Cabbage Paruppusili

Ingredients:

Cabbage             -  250 gms
Bengal gram dal  -  2 table spoons
Thoor dal           -  2 table spoons
Red chilies          -  4 nos
Turmeric powder-  1/2 tea spoon
Asafoitida           -  1/2 tea spoon
Mustard seeds    -  1 tea spoon
Black gram dal    -  1 tea spoon
Cooking oil         -  2 table spoons
Salt to taste

1.  Wash and soak both the dals and red chilies for 1 hr.
2.  Finely chop cabbages.
3.  Grind the soaked dal and red chilies coarsely.
4.  Add the ground paste to the chopped cabbage along with salt, turmeric powder, salt and asafoitida.
5.  Heat oil in a heavy bottomed kadai, add the mustard seeds and black gram dal.
6.  Once the mustard seeds crackles and dal turns brown add the dal cabbage mixture.
7.  Stir thoroughly till the oil mixes well with the vegetable mixture.
8.  Keep stirring in between and cook till the vegetable and dal cooks.
9.  Serve with rice or roti.
