Seppankizhangu with Tamarind(Colocasia)

Ingredients:

Seppankizhangu     -  250 gms
Tamarind               -  1 small berry size
MasalaPowder      -  2 table spoons
Cooking oil            -  3 table spoons
Mustard seeds       -  1 table spoon
Black gram dal      -  1 table spoon
Turmeric powder  -  1 tea spoon
Asafoitida             -  1/4 tea spoon
Salt to taste

1.  Wash and boil seppankizhangu till done.
2.  Allow it to cool, peel and cut them into 1/2 inch pieces.
3.  Soak tamarind in a cup of warm water, squeeze and remove juice.
4.  Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds and black gram dal.
5.  Once the mustard crackles and dal turns golden brown add the cut seppankizhangu, turmeric powder, asafoitida and salt.
6.  Stir well and add the tamarind juice to it.
7.  Keep stirring occasionally and cook till the tamarind juice is dry.
8.  Now add the Masala powder and mix well and remove from stove.
9.  Serve sambar rice/ lemon rice or roti.
