Big Brinjal - 1 no
Onions - 2 no
Tomatoes - 2 nos
Green chillies - 4 nos
Red chillies - 2 nos
Mustard - 1 table spoon
Black gram - 1 table spoon
oil to cook - 2 table spoon'
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon
salt to taste
1. Wash the brinjal and put it directly on the gas stove and cook it by turning it from all sides.
2. After its cooled peel it and mash it thoroughly.
3. Chop onions, green chillies and tomatoes.
4. Heat oil in a kadai add mustard, black gram dal and red chillies(made into small pieces).
5. After the mustard crackles and the dal turns golden brown, add the chopped onions and green chillies.
6. After onion is cooked add the tomatoes salt and turmeric powder.
7. After the tomatoes become soft add the mashed brinjals and mix thoroughly.
8. Keep it in the stove for a few min, and remove from stove.
9. Brinjal Bhartha ready.
