Ingredients:
Cauliflower - 250 gms
Potatos - 2 nos
Onions - 2 nos
Tomatoes - 1 no
Mustard seeds - 1 tea spoon
Black gram dal - 1 tea spoon
Garlic - 6 - 8 pearls
Ginger - 1 inch
Coriander seeds - 1 tea spoon
Jeera - 11/2 tea spoon
Red chillies - 3 nos
Turmeric powder - 1 tea spoon
Cooking oil - 2 table spoons
Sugar - 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
1. Clean and cut the cauliflower into small florets.
2. Cut potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes.
3. Finely chop 1 onion and tomatoes.
4. Grind 1 onion, garlic, ginger, coriander seeds, 1 tea spoon jeera and 2 red chillies.
5. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds, 1/2 tea spoon jeera, black gram dal and 1 red chillies cut into pieces.
6. Once the mustard crackles add the chopped onions and wait till its turns transparent add the gound masala.
7. Keep stirring till the oil splits and then add the tomatoes, turmeric powder and salt.
8. Cook till tomatoes become shapeless and saucy and oil splits.
9. Add the cauliflowers and potatoes and stir for 3 - 4 mins and add sugar and 1 cup of water.
10.Keep under low flame, cover and cook till the vegetables are done.
11.Remove from stove and cauliflower masala ready. Tastes good with rice, roties and dosa.
