Bottlegourd with Mustard

Ingredients:

Bottle gourd             -  1 medium sized
Potatoes                  -  2 nos
Onion                      -  1 nos
Tomato                    -  1 no
Garlic                       - 4 - 5 pearls
Red chilies                -  2 nos
Mustard                   -  1 table spoon
Kootu Vathal
(Black gram Fryams)-  3 - 4 nos(Optional)
Grated coconut        -  1 table spoon
Coocking oil            -  1 table spoon
Turmeric powder     -  1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste

1.  Peel and dice both bottle gourd and potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes.
2.  Grind together onion, tomato, ginger, red chilies and mustard.
3.  Take little water in a thick bottomed vessel, add the diced vegetables, salt and turmeric powder to it.
4.  Cook the vegetable till done and add the ground masala and grated coconut to it and cook for 3 - 4 mins till the raw smell goes off.
5.  Remove the vegetable from stove.
6.  Heat oil in a kadai and fry the black gram dal fryams (Broken into pieces) and once they turn brown add it to the vegetable.
7.  Serve hot with rice or roti or paratha.
