Alu Palak

Ingredients:


Palak                  -   300 gms
Potato                -  1 no
Green chili          -  2 nos
Jeera powder     -  1 tea spoon
Cooking oil        -  1 table spoon
Asafoitida          -  1 pinch
Mustard seeds   -  1 tea spoon
Black gram dal   -  1 tea spoon
Salt to taste


1.  Clean and finely chop the palak.
2.  Peel and chop the potato.
3.  Finely chop the green chillies.
4.  Heat oil in a kadai and add the mustard seeds and black gram dal.
5.  Once the mustard crackles and the dal turns golden brown add the chopped green chillies.
6.  Once the greeen chillies are fried add the chopped palak and cook for 3 - 4 mins and then add the potatoes.
7.  Also add the asafoitida, jeera powder and salt.
8.  Once the potatoes are cooked remove from stove.
9.  Alu palak is ready.
